The Story of Persol
Giuseppe Ratti founded Persol in Turin in 1917 — the name is short for 'per il sole,' Italian for 'for the sun' — originally making protective eyewear for pilots and race car drivers.
The signature Meflecto flexible-temple system and arrow hinge detail are original inventions, still fitted today. Steve McQueen made the 714 model iconic decades later.
